Origin/meaning

The arms of Blotzheim are known since the 17th century. The symbols were granted, as the sentence "Ora et Labora" (latin for "to pray and to work"), by Louis XIVth when he passed by Blotzheim and had a dinner in its castle. The symbols refer to the sentence, the cross for "Ora" and the set square for "Labora".
