Wappen von Brebel/Arms (crest) of Brebel
Official blazon
German In Gold unten zwischen zwei blauen Wellenbalken ein blauer Wellenfaden, oben ein grünes vierblättriges Kleeblatt mit einem aufgelegten goldenen Fadenkreuz als Blattadern

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 11, 2005.

The clover leaf has four lobes, one for each of the villages in the municipality : Gross Brebel, Klein Brebel, Brebelholz and Loitstrasse. The cross on the leaf symbolises the crossing of two main roads in the middle of the municipality.

The base symbolises the different streams and rivers in the municipality, the Oxbek, Schukierau and the Loiterau. The colours gold and blue are those of Schleswig. Gold and green refer to the agriculture and the agricultural character of the area. Literature: Kommunale Wappenrolle Schleswig-Holstein
