Portuguese Escudo de azul, falcata celta e gládio romano, ambos de prata, cruzados em aspa, acompanhados em chefe por uma águia de ouro e em ponta por uma folha de videira de verde, contornada de ouro e posta em pala. Coroa mural de prata de quatro torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro, em maiúsculas : “ BUCELAS “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 11, 1997.

The eagle is a symbol of progress. The Celtic knife and Roman gladius are both symbols for the long history and inhabitation of the area. The grape leaf indicates the importance of viticulture in the parish.
