BURSCHEID

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis (until 1975 Rhein-Wupper Kreis)
Additions: 1930 Lützenkirchen (partly)

Wappen von Burscheid/Arms (crest) of Burscheid
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 21, 1920.

The arms were derived from the arms of the family Burtscheid, who used three red water-lily leaves. The leaves were changed to linden leaves, without any special meaning. Whether the family had anything to do with the city is also not very clear.

Wappen von Burscheid/Coat of arms (crest) of Burscheid

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
