Escudo de Calaf/Arms of Calaf
Official blazon
Catalan Escut caironat: de gules, un gos passant d'or acompanyat al cap d'un card de 3 flors d'or. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.
English No blazon/translation known. Please click here to send your (heraldic !) blazon or translation

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 15, 1991.

These arms are canting: they show traditionally a "ca" (Catalan for "dog"). The thistle above is derived from the arms of the counts of Cardona (also canting: "card" means "thistle"), to whom the town belonged.
