Escudo de ouro, castelo de negro, lavrado de prata, aberto e iluminado de vermelho; em chefe, dragão volante de verde, lampassado de vermelho. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda de negro, em maiúsculas : “ CASTELO - LISBOA “.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 19, 1999.

The arms show a canting castle and a dragon, the symbol of the local patron saint, St. George.
