Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 13, 2001.

The arms show the Pont de Rabentí, a bridge over the river of Peguera (symbolized here by the waves), where the ancient village of Cercs was born. The picks above refer to the coal mines of Fígols, the main economic resource in the municipality.
