Official blazon

In Rot ein pfahlweis gestellter goldener Doppelhaken, begleitet oben links und unten rechts von je einem sechsstrahligen goldenen Stern.

Origin/meaning

The arms of Dettingen an der Erms were granted on March 7, 1958.

The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the village, dating from the 17th century. The seal already showed the hook and the two stars. The meaning of the hook is not known, most likely it was the village symbol. The stars are either simple decoration, or are derived from the arms of the Counts of Achalm, who ruled the village until the 13th century.
