Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1858.

The above arms appeared for the first time at the end of the 17^th century for the Dietenhofen and Bonnhof districts. The hornblower was taken as a canting symbol, from Düten, or horn-blowing. The arms also refer to a local legend, in which Empress Kunigunde got lost in the area, but she found her way back by listening to the horn of the nightwatch of the town.
