Origin/meaning

The silver white snowcapped purple mountain highlight Pikes Peak as a focal point in the physical topography of the diocese. The presence of a loving, faithful God as rock, refuge and strength is represented for the community of believers in this "mountain of the Lord," found in the book of Isaiah.

The blue and silver waters of the springs depict the Episcopal Seat of the Diocesan territory; these waters also signify the saving waters of Baptism through which people of diverse backgrounds and cultures profess that "there is but one body and one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who works through all and is in all" (Eph. 4:4-5).

The three interlocking circles of red, green and gold reflect the Trinitarian concepts of mutuality, community and prophecy, calling the people to be sign and sacrament of the reign of God growing within them, and to announce the Good News of Christ's presence in the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
