Unter silbernem Zinnenschildhaupt in Rot ein silbernes, eine Eichel in den Pfoten haltendes Eichhörnchen, begleitet von drei bewurzelten silbernen Lindenbäumen in der Stellung 2:1.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 17, 1990.

The village was first mentioned in 1190 and it belonged until the end of the 14th century to the Lords von Westensee. The squirrel in the arms is taken from the arms of the family von Westensee.

In the 18th and early 19th century the Reventlow family owned the area and built their estate near the village, which became an important meeting point for artists and politicians of the region. The chief of the arms is taken from the arms of the Reventlow family.

The three linden trees refer to the three villages Emkendorf, Klein Vollstedt and Bokelholm in the municipality.

The colours are those of the Reventlow arms as well as (probably) the von Westensee arms.
