State : Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) : Südwestpfalz
Verbandsgemeinde : Verbandsgemeinde Dahner Felsenland

Erlenbachd.jpg

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 5, 1950.

The castle is the local Berwartstein castle, which was a possession of the Princes of the Pfalz (Palatine), who appointed a local governor for the region. The colours are those of the Pfalz. The raven with the ring is taken from the arms of the Von Drott family, who were for many years appointed governors and who lived in Berwartstein Castle.

The aspen (Erle) in the upper right half is a canting element.
