Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 27, 1914 by the German Emperor Wilhelm II.

The arms combine the arms of Lorraine with the arms of the Haraucourt family, as Emperor Charles V raised the area to a marquisate in favour of Elisée de Haraucourt.
