Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 28, 1976.

The arms are based on a local legend. Once the villagers of Fockbek tried to drown an eel in the local lake, as they presumed that the eel had eaten all the herring in the lake. The herring they had put in the lake for fish farming.
The arms are designed in the colours of Schleswig-Holstein and the fish are placed in a canting stream (Bach=stream).
