Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 16, 1986.
The cross of the Calvary is a traditional element of the arms of Fonollosa; it refers to the Holy Cross, to which is dedicated the local church. The two golden thistles on gules are taken from the canting arms of the dukes of Cardona, the landlords of the village (a Catalan "card" is a thistle).
