German	In Blau ein silberner Ritter auf einem nach rechts schreitenden silbernen Ross mit silbernem Schwert und einem silbernen Schild mit schwarz-silbern geständertem Kreuz, in der Rechten eine schwarze Lanze mit silberner Spitze und Fahne haltend; im linken silbernen Obereck drei beblätterte grüne Schilfrohre mit schwarzen Kolben.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 10, 1993.

The arms show a canting St. Gangolf, the local patron saint. The reeds (Schilfkolben) are a canting element for the village of Schilfa. The blue and silver are taken from the arms of the Von Brühl and Von Hagke families, who owned estates in Gangloffsömmern and Schilfa respectively.
