Garciat.jpg

Official blazon

Escut caironat: d'or, una garsa d'atzur, becada i membrada de sable; el cap de sable. Per timbre una corona mural de vila.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 4, 1987.

Canting arms: they show a "garsa" (Catalan for "magpie"). The colours, gold with the black top, are taken from the arms of the Entença family, of which barony the town of Garcia was an important fortification.
