Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 8, 1978.

The eagle in the arms is the eagle of the Counts of Leiningen, to whom the village belonged until 1806. Their arms showed three small silver eagles in blue. The single eagle also appeared in the seals of the village in the 19th and 20th century and was shown as the arms of the village in the 1950s (see image below).

To distinguish the arms from other arms with eagles, the three small bars were added in 1978. These represent the three small rivers in the municipality, the Holzbach, Elbbach and Schafbach.
