In the arms as Auxiliary of Utrecht, the personal arms are placed on the arms of the Archdiocese of Utrecht. The three columns refer to the arms of [[Vianen]], where the bishop was born. The colours were changed mainly for contrast, but green was chosen as a colour of trust, servitude and modesty. In Biblical terms, columns are also a symbol for the Apostles. | |||

Origin/meaning
In the arms as Auxiliary of Utrecht, the personal arms are placed on the arms of the Archdiocese of Utrecht. The three columns refer to the arms of Vianen, where the bishop was born.
