Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 9, 1965.

The arms are partly canting, a golden stream in a red field (Golbach or golden stream). The wheel in the lower right half is the symbol of the State of Mainz, as the largest part of the municipality belonged to Mainz from the 10th century until 1803. The crown symbolises the Royal Estate in the Maingau in the 7th-11th century.

The red colour is derived from the main colour of the arms of the counts of Rieneck, who ruled the village as vassals for the Archbishops of Mainz.
