Origin/meaning

The arms of Gonesse show a garb because the bread of Gonesse was very famous during the middle age. The letters SL on the left, and the crown, refer to Saint Louis king of France, who was probably born in the city. His mother, Blanche de Castille stayed in Gonesse. The tower is a reference to the castle which does no longer exist.
