Origin/meaning

The arms were designed in 1905 and adopted by the council in 1906.

The pine tree was already used in the seal of the village in the 19th century and probably symbolises the forests in the region. The pine tree is also a symbol for the former Hauenstein County to which (part) of the municipality belonged. The Austrian arms were added as the whole region belonged to Austria until 1803.
