Gules, in base a base fess-wise wavy argent charged with a like barrulet azure, out of which leaging, two trout or, one to the dexter chief and the other to the sinister chief. / De gueules, á la base une bande divisée ondée d'argent chargé d'une burèle semblable d'azure aux deux truites d'or issantes, l'une adextrée, l'autre senestrée en chef.

Origin/meaning

The Red backgrund symbolises the famous Red Rock at the mouth of the Nipigon River at the Lake Superior. On this early Indians did paintings of object familiar to them. The Nipigon River for which the Ship is named, is know for exellent Trout Fishing, hence the inclusion of these fish.
