Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 13, 1995.

The lion with the helmet is taken from the arms of the Lords von Bültzingslöwen, who played a major role in the history of the village. The spade is a symbol for the -rode part of the name, which is derived from roden, or clearing forest.
