Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 17, 1978.

The Indian headgear and the arrows symbolises the first inhabitants in the region. The small wavy bar symbolises the many rivers in the region. The stars are a symbol for the bright future of the city.

The shield is flanked by cotton and corn branches, the main crops in the region.
