Official blazon

Unter silbernem Schildhaupt, darin drei durchgehende blaue Spitzen, in Gold nebeneinander ein roter Turm und ein roter Drachenrumpf.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 30, 1980.

The chief with the blue points is derived from the arm of the Pfreimder family, who had an estate in the municipality froom 1529-1706. The colours of the chief are those of the Leuchtenberg County to which the village belonged. The arms of the county were in blue a silver bar.

The tower is the symbol for Saint Barbara, the local patron saint. The dragon is taken from the arms of the Waldsassen Abbey, which owned a large part of the area for a long period of time.
