Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 29, 1968
The cross that divides the shield symbolises the Christian faith of the inhabitants.
The first quarter symbolises the fertile valley surrounded by hills and cut by rivers, the star represents the seat of the municipal district.
The second quarter shows a settler with the hoe over his shoulder, a symbol for the work and the agricultural wealth.
The third quarter represents the industrial park of the municipal district.
The fourth quarter honours the settlers; the lion, is derived from the coat of arms of Belgium, and is a reverence to the founder of Jaragu do Sul, who was born There; the eagle is derived from the Prussian coat of arms, as many of the European settlers came from Prussia.
