JATINEGARA

Province : Jakarta
Municipality : Jakarta Timur

As far as I know the town (now suburb) does not use arms.

Colonial arms

In 1929 the council of Meester Cornelis (as the town was called during colonial times) decided to adopt a coat of arms. For this a contest was announced in March 1929. The arms should contain at least some fruits, as the municipality was seen as the garden of Batavia (now Jakarta). This was ridiculed in the Nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië on March 19, which mentioned a number of fruits and proposed a 'fruit salad' as arms, but the paper also indicated that the members of the city council were often so divided that they probably would not agree on the type or number of fruits.

On May 21, 1929 the Sumatra Post indicated that the mayor recived a proper design, with a fortress in the base and three kaffir lime fruits in chief. The arms were crowned with the Dutch municipal crown.

I have no image, nor any information whether these arms were actually used or adopted by the municipality.
