JAVOLS

Département : Lozère
Incorporated into : 2017 Peyre en Aubrac

Blason de Javols/Arms (crest) of Javols
Official blazon
French Écartelé: aux 1er et 4e de gueules au tonneau d'or, aux 2e et 3e d'azur à l'amphore d'or; sur le tout, d'argent à l'aigle de sable.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 24, 2010.

The barrel and the amphora symbolise the Gauls (who probably invented the barrel) and the Romans that lived in the area. The eagle is the arms of the Barony of the Peyre, to which the village historically belonged.
