Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms show a wheel, which was known on the seals of Köppern since the 16th century. It had never been used as arms until the arms were granted in 1938.

The colour is taken from the colours of the lion of Hessen. The actual meaning of the arms is unknown.

In the new arms of Friedrichsdorf the wheel is added as the symbol for Köppern.
