Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 2, 1987.
The green colour refers to the arms of Steiermark as well as to the nature in the municipality. The wheat ears refer to the agricultural character, as well as to the the name Gaisfeld. Feld means field, and Gais comes from Gau, meaning a cultivated area.
