Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 3, 1971.

The silver sugar beet is a symbol for the local agriculture. The wheel is the symbol for industry and the eight dents symbolise the eight former municipalities. The wavy bend symbolises the Windwehe river that runs through the municipality.
