MARKT BIBART

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim (until 1973 Scheinfeld)
Additions : 1972 Ziegenbach; 1976 Altmannshausen

Wappen von Markt Bibart

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are known since the 18th century. The colour of the right half was shown as red between 1816 and 1835, but has been blue ever since.

The banner is the arms of the State of Würzburg, to which the town historically belonged. The beaver in the left half is a canting element (Biber=beaver).

The seals of the town, the oldest known from the 15th century, showed until the early 18th century the banner of Würzburg with a small beaver head at the base.
