Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 21, 1992.

The leaves in the arms are derived from the old seal of the former Karrharde area. The seal showed some undefined trees, which are now described as aspen leaves. The cross indicates the fact that Medelby already had a church in 1200. The windmill blades symbolise the single 19th century windmill in Medelby. The colours indicate the green meadows and the golden wheat fields in the municipality.
