Former province : Länsi-Suomi (until 1997 Turku and Pori)
Incorporated into : 2007 Mynämäki

Mietoinen Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Punaisessa kentässä kolme kultaista sulkakynää paaluittain.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 16, 1961.

The feather pens refer to Daniel Juslenius (1676-1752), born in Mietoinen, Bishop of Porvoo, later in Skara, researcher, writer and convinced Finnish patriot, who made in 1745 the first dictionary of the Finnish language.

Since 2007 the arms are used by Mynämäki.
