MONTAFON VALLEY

State : Vorarlberg
District : Bludenz

Wappen von Montafon valley/Arms (crest) of Montafon valley
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 15, 1928.

The Montafon Valley is a large (over 30 km in length) valley in the Bludenz district in Western Austria. Within Vorarlberg it formed a special Stand since the 14th century and since 1774 it had its own court.

The region already used arms for a long time, whowing two crossed keys. These were formally granted in 1928, even though the valley has no formal status at present.
