Origin/meaning

The four points of the compass represents the Navigation side of the Squadron. The Head of Mercury represents the Signals and Communications side of the Squadron. The Badge was originally approved for the Air Navigation and Air Signallers School in January 1958. It was approved for the Squadron in July 1984.
