Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 24, 1951.

The arms show the lion taken from the arms of the Duke of Grubenhagen, who granted freedom of taxes to the villagers in 1290. The base showa a flowery cross, taken from the arms of Abbess Agnes II of Quedlinburg, who bought some property in the village in the late 12th century.
