OFTERDINGEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Tübingen

Wappen von Ofterdingen/Arms (crest) of Ofterdingen
Official blazon
German In Blau eine goldene Garbe mit pfahlweis durchgestecktem, nach rechts gewendetem goldenem Dreschflegel.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms of Ofterdingen were officially granted in 1931, but are of much older origin. The oldest known seal of Ofterdingen dates from 1555 and already shows the garb and scythe. These are typical symbols for the agricultural character of the villege at the time. The colours were chosen in 1931.
