Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 12, 2021.

The foundry crucible illustrates the operation of a forge on the site of a mill in 1834.

The two ornaments represent those which surmounted the two doors of the 16th century tower attached to the church.

The Gambrinus (mythical king of Flanders and Brabant, symbol of beer lovers) refers to the brewery, which operated from the 18th century until 1912.

The quarry picks refer to the formerly important limestone mining and quarries.

The trout are common fish in the Chiers river.
