Wappen von Ortrand/Arms (crest) of Ortrand
Official blazon
German

In Gold ein doppelt-geschwänzter schwarzer Löwe mit roter Bewehrung und Zunge.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms date from the 13th century and show the lion of Meissen, as the city was a loan of the Margraves of Meissen in the 13th century.

The city sometimes uses the medieval great-arms, which show a helmet, crown and a crest of peacock feathers, all derived from the Margraves of Meissen (see below, the color of the tong and nails should be red though).
