Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 20, 1586 by the Dukes Johann Casimir and Johann Ernst von Sachsen(-Meissen).

The arms show a gate with between the towers a lion, holding the green trefoil-ring of Sachsen. The lion most likely is the lion of Meissen.
