Official blazon
French D'or à la tête d'aigle arrachée de sable becquée et languée de gueules; chaussé de sinople.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The gold alludes to cocoa, of which Oyem is one of the marketing centers, and the green to the forest. The gold forming the triangle represents the geographical location of Oyem on a plateau cut with depressions. The eagle’s head, borrowed from the German coat of arms, recalls the work of the Germans in this center at the beginning of the 20th century. Oyem was founded by the French and was later developed and expanded by the Germans.
