Official blazon

I fält av guld en medselst vågskuror bildad blå bjälke, åtföljd ovan av en sexuddig stjärna och nedan av en plogbill båda röda.

Origin/meaning

The Field Or indicating the Farming land, the wavy fess the Kumla Creek and the transport routes in general. The Star is from the Seal of the hundred of Skärkind which had its Court of Justice in Gistad. The Ploughshare-point alludes to the Plough in the Coat of Arms of the Rural Municipality of Åkerbo to which Gistad belonged 1952-1970.
