Origin/meaning

The arms indicate that the village developed around the Good Hope Convent, founded in 1629 by Philippe-François d'Arenberg (1625-1674), 17th Duke of Aarschot. The three medlar flowers are taken from the arms of the Arenberg family and the crown is a ducal crown.
