PRÉIZERDAUL (until 2001 BETTBORN)
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 2, 1985.
The main village was owned by the Everlange family, whose arms showed a bar and two stars. These arms formed the basis of the arms of the village. The bar was made wavy to represent the part of the village called Roudbaach, or red brook. The fleur-de-lis represents the village of Préizerdaul/Bettborn itself, as it is the symbol of the St. Mary, patron saint of the village.
The three stars represent the other three villages in the municipality, Platen, Pratz and Reimberg.
The name of the municipality was changed in 2001 from the French version to the local Letzeburgian version.
