Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 30, 1944.

The key is taken from the seal of the Nederluleå parish, to which the village historically belonged. The cross and millstone are taken from the arms of Jonas Meldercreutz, who set up a mill to extract iron ore in the area in the 1740s.
