I rött fält en stående vädur av silver med beväring av guld, förande ett på korsstav av guld fästat rött baner med bård och fem flikar av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1971.

Even though Gotland had 13 of municipalities in 1971, only 1, Visby, had arms. As the arms of Visby also showed the Agnus Dei of Gotland province, the old arms of Visby were continued for the new municipality.
