RODOLFO PEDRO WIRZ KRAEMER
Born : April 19, 1942
Deceased :
Bishop of Maldonado-Punta del Este, 1985-2018
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
With the blue background that symbolizes both the firmament and the sea, signs of the greatness of God, the boat of Peter sails with an evangelizing mission. Leading the way we are preceded by Mary, Star of Evangelization, sign and figure of the Church.
The fragile boat is inclined by storms, but also by the rejuvenating changes; Trust in the Cross keeps us calm.
The motto is taken from "The term is over, the Kingdom of God has come closer. Take another path and believe in the Good News ... Go all over the world and announce the Good News to all creation. " (Mk 1,15 and 16,15)
