SÃO BARTOLOMEU
Municipality : Borba
District : Évora
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 25, 2001.
The cross is the cross of the Order of Avis, as the city of Borba was a possession of the Order for a long time. The grape indicates the importance of viticulture and the famous wines of the Borba area. The knife is the symbol of St. Bartolomew, the local patron saint.
